Another professional footballer killed in the war

Former defender of FC Kosmos (Pavlohrad), FC Metallurg (Novomoskovsk), FC Mariupol, FC Torpedo (Zaporizhzhia), FC Stal (Kamianske), FC Electrometallurg-NZF (Nikopol), 50-year-old Vitaliy Zaliznyak, died in the war against Russia, the UAF press service reports.

Vitaliy was a soldier, a gunner of a machine gun section of a fire support platoon of a fire support company. While performing a combat mission near the village of Zaliznychne, he sustained a shrapnel wound that was incompatible with life.
