Two stars already decorate the emblem of FC Dynamo (Kyiv). It is for 13 victories in the championship of the former USSR and 16 - in the championship of independent Ukraine.
One more success in the UPL championship and these victories will be 30, which means that the third star will "flash" over the Dynamo emblem. It will appear for sure. And we hope Dynamo fans will not have to wait for it for a long time.
Lobanovskyi's beautiful football
Valeriy Vasilyevich Lobanovsky, Hero of Ukraine, Knight of the UEFA Ruby Order of Merit, Honoured Coach of Ukraine, Honoured Coach of the Union, has 28 victorious titles to his credit.
Under his leadership Dynamo won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup twice (!975, 1986), the UEFA Super Cup (1975), eight times the USSR "gold", six times the Cup, three times the Cup of the season.
Valeriy Lobanovskiy's wards have won the Ukrainian title five times and the Cup of the country three times.
More trophies (48) won only the famous Scotsman Alex Ferguson, who for many years headed the English superclub Manchester United.
On 13 January 2017, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) published a list of the 10 most outstanding coaches. Valeriy Vasilyevich Lobanovsky was also included in that honourable register.
Here is one of the phrases of Valery Lobanovsky, which has become a classic:
"Unpretty was the match, you say? The most beautiful football is the final score on the scoreboard. If we won, it means we showed beautiful football".
