Former Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu will continue his professional career, but not at Lyon, with whom he was reportedly in talks.
According to the French media, the 78-year-old was indeed considered by the Lyon management as one of the candidates for the post of the team's coach, which became vacant after the recent dismissal of Fabio Grosso, but in the end the choice fell on another coach.
It is reported that "Lyon" has already agreed all the details of cooperation with the famous Argentine specialist Jorge Sampaoli. It is expected that his appointment will be officially announced early next week.
We would like to add that Sampaoli's last club was Brazilian Flamengo, which he coached for only a few months this year. The 63-year-old Argentine also has experience in France: from February 2021 to July 2022, he was head coach of Marseille.
