Yesterday's match of the 15th round of the Turkish championship between Ankaragücü and Rizespor (1:1) ended with literally unbelievable events.
After the final whistle, Ankaragücü president Faruk Koca ran onto the pitch and delivered a powerful fist blow to the face of head referee Halil Umut Meler, knocking him out. And while on the turf, the referee received a number of kicks and punches.
Apparently, the inadequate behaviour of the home team's representatives was a consequence of their reaction to the referee's decisions in the above-mentioned match. Meller showed two red cards in that match - one to an Ankaragücü player and one to a Rizespor player. The visitors managed to equalise the score in the 7th minute of the second half, almost immediately after a penalty.
