In the 71st minute, Manchester United made their first substitution, bringing on A. Garnacha instead of M. Rashford. Liverpool responded with two substitutions in the 78th minute, bringing on L. Dias and K. Jones. These changes should have given Liverpool some spice, but Manchester United's defence held firm. The match took a dramatic turn in the 82nd minute when Manchester United made two quick substitutions, replacing K. Maina with H. Mejbri and introducing Anthony instead of F. Pellistri. However, despite the fresh energies, neither team could make any headway. The match ended on a sour note for Manchester United: in the 90th minute, D. Dalot received two yellow cards in quick succession. The first one was followed by another and a few moments later a red card, leaving Manchester United with ten men. Both teams fought hard until the final whistle, but in the end the score was never fixed. In the end the score was 0-0, with both Liverpool and Manchester United picking up one point each. Fans may have been disappointed that no goals were scored in this highly anticipated encounter. However, the match showed the defensive prowess of both teams and reminded us that goalless draws can be exciting and hard fought matches.
