The Ukrainian Football publication at the end of the calendar year held a traditional referendum among domestic coaches, functionaries and journalists to determine the best in Ukraine in 2023. The results of the poll in the Best Legionnaire of the Year nomination were published today.
Each of the respondents named their own version of the top three legionnaires. The nominee was awarded three points for the first place, two points for the second and one point for the third.
As a result, the winner of the nomination was Viktor Tsygankov, the former Dynamo Kyiv midfielder, now playing in Spanish Girona, who scored 244 points. Another representative of this team, striker Artem Dovbik, is a little behind the leader - he has 241 points. Arsenal midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko rounded off the top three with 223 points.
We also note the presence of two more ex-Dynamo players in the top 5 - Vitaliy Mykolenko from Everton and Ilya Zabarny from Bournemouth.
