Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has called on his former club to sign David de Gea in the January transfer window.

I think Newcastle need a goalkeeper. De Gea is on the list. I know the wages would be huge, but they wouldn't have to pay for his transfer," Shearer told BBC Radio 5 Live.
It will be recalled that the Magpies lost their main goalkeeper Nick Pope due to a shoulder injury for at least five months.
