The match became increasingly physical as time went on, leading to a flurry of yellow cards. Verona's K. Ngonge received a yellow card in the 38th minute, followed by Salernitana's M. Legowski in the 72nd minute. In the 79th minute, when the tension was building, J. Doig of Verona received a yellow card. In the final minutes of the game, both teams made further substitutions in an attempt to get a result. Verona introduced M. Djuric and J.D. Cabal in place of T. Henry and J. Mbula in the 82nd and 87th minutes respectively. Meanwhile, Salernitana introduced Simi in place of K. Ikwuemesi in the 88th minute. As time wore on, Salernitana held their slender advantage while Verona desperately rushed forward. However, their efforts were in vain and the match ended with Salernitana winning 1-0. Both teams deserve praise for their energetic play. Verona fought hard throughout the game, but Salernitana's resilience and solid defence ultimately secured their victory. The fans at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi witnessed a tense battle between two evenly matched teams in what was an exciting and entertaining Serie A match.
