For the first time in five years, Tottenham London striker Son Heung-min did not win the South Korean Player of the Year award. At the end of 2023, Bayern Munich centre-back Kim Min-Jae was named the best footballer.

"I'm grateful to the many fans who showed their enthusiastic support day and night last season. The Asian Cup is coming up, and the team will prepare well and come back with good results," the South Korean Football Federation's press service quoted the defender as saying on its official website.
