Chelsea defender Thiago Silva commented on reaching the 100-match mark in the English Premier League.
"I never imagined that one day I would play in the Premier League. It was, with all due respect, a football that I frankly did not like. Because I thought it was a lot of tackling, knocking the ball forward and fighting for it there. I never liked it, even though I thought I was good in the air and adapted well.
I thought I wouldn't play here. I think one of the people responsible for this change is Pep Guardiola. He plays more football. Other teams don't try to copy this style, but they want to play more football because it's a pleasure to watch. And from that moment on, I became interested, I watched more Premier League matches at home. I got an offer from Chelsea, and I didn't think twice," Silva was quoted as saying by ESPN.
