Former Bayern Munich head coach Ottmar Gitzfeld has suggested renaming the club's home arena Allianz Arena after the death of Franz Beckenbauer.

Beckenbauer is the greatest of all time because he achieved everything that can be achieved - he became a world champion with Germany as a world-class player and then as a coach.
He helped create the Bayern Munich charisma, along with Gerd Müller, Uli Hoeness, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and several others. That's why it would be good if the Allianz Arena was renamed the Franz-Beckenbauer-Arena," kicker quoted the 74-year-old as saying.
