Thehead of the Ivano-Frankivsk Football Association, Taras Klym, spoke about a meeting between some heads of regional associations and the sole candidate for the UAF presidency, Andriy Shevchenko.
- How satisfied are you with the meeting? Did you get answers to the questions you had for Andrii Mykolaiovych?
- I'm not going to tell you whether I'm satisfied or not... Let's start with the purpose. I think that the purpose of this meeting is for Andriy Mykolayovych to get acquainted with the heads of regional federations, to study the current situation, the problems, and, probably, the programme he will run with.
There is only one candidate, but there must be a programme. I hope that he will use all these issues that have been raised to formulate his programme. We, the regional leaders, tried to bring these problems that have arisen over the years to his attention. We did not hear any specific answers. But I think this is only the first meeting.
We hope that he will hear our colleagues from other regions and that all our proposals will be included in his programme. For example, from Ivano-Frankivsk, we even passed them on in writing for use. What are our proposals? They are very simple - we are engaged in grassroots football here, and the issues of improving the organisation of grassroots football on the ground, children's football, federation management, strategic issues are in this direction. After all, why are we holding elections? We want change. We want to improve our work.
And it would be good to know who will be in his team, because you understand that this is an important issue.
- I just wanted to ask if Shevchenko represented his team.
- This question was raised, but Andriy said that he was collecting information, preparing this issue, and we would be informed about it before the Congress.
- As far as the programme is concerned, I understand that Andriy did not present it. But did he express any ideas or suggestions at this meeting?
- There were some suggestions, I can't say it's a programme, but there is a vision. But it seems to me that his main goal was to listen to us.
- As for his vision , can you briefly tell us about it? Maybe some ideas that stuck out to you?
- You need to ask him a question, not for me to retell it, because it would be somehow incorrect. He didn't report to us, he's a new manager. I think the purpose of his meeting was to get to know our vision and draw conclusions.
