Journalist Ihor Burbas claims that Dnipro-1 was ready to sell current Girona striker Artem Dovbyk to one of the Ukrainian giants.
"Dnipro-1 were ready to sell Artem Dovbyk to Dynamo or Shakhtar. However, it was a bit more expensive for competitors than abroad. In the domestic market, the striker was valued at exactly 15 million euros.
In Kyiv, on the contrary, the club's budget was being reduced and they were not ready to pay more than 2 million for a transfer. Well, the Shakhtar management believed that the price tag was overheated and Dovbyk was not worth that much.
Maybe he wasn't worth that much then. However, now only Transfermarkt estimates Dovbyk's net worth at €28 million. And on the free market, Girona can easily ask for the full 40 million for him. However, they will have to share a third of the amount with Midtjylland. The Danes believed in Artem's progress and took less in cash, but more in resale interest," Burbas wrote on Telegram.
