Zvonimir Boban has resigned as UEFA's director of professional football, L'Équipe reports.

In particular, he strongly opposed an amendment to the statutes that would have allowed Čeferin to run for a new term, which, according to current rules, should have been his last.
Now the Croatian has decided to leave, it is his principled position.
