Zvonimir Boban has resigned as UEFA's director of professional football, L'Équipe reports.

In his position since 2021, Boban has criticised UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin. In particular, he strongly opposed an amendment to the statutes that would have allowed Čeferin to run for a new term, which, according to current rules, should have been his last.
Now the Croatian has decided to leave, it is his principled position.
