A well-known Spanish publication has responded to the successful performance of Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin of Real Madrid in the 20th round of the Spanish league against Getafe.

The Spanish edition of Mundo Deportivo dedicated a separate article to the Ukrainian goalkeeper.

"Lunin responded in Getafe to the trust placed in him by Carlo Ancelotti, who started him for the second match in a row, and in this match Real Madrid did not concede a single goal for the first time in the last seven games."

In Spain, it is believed that Ancelotti chooses Lunin to start for those matches that are more important.

"This time, during the preparation for the match, Ancelotti did not tell us who would start, as he promised a few days before and as he did on previous occasions. However, where his games matter most, on the pitch, he again chooses Lunin."

The publication notes that it was the Ukrainian's confident performance in the 2-1 win over Las Palmas that earned him a place in the starting line-up for the match against Getafe.

"Lunin's confidence was boosted by his good performance last Saturday against Las Palmas, in which he conceded a goal with a close-range shot, but in the first minute of the second half he saved the team after going one-on-one with Munir, which was key to the outcome of the game.

He demonstrated the kind of play that befits a goalkeeper of a great team: they don't often come to you, but when they do, you stop them. And that earned him a place in the starting line-up against Getafe for the second game in a row."

Lunin's excellent performance against Getafe significantly increases his chances of starting in Sunday's La Liga match against Atletico Madrid.

"Themessage of confidence from Ancelotti, which he has to confirm next Sunday with Atletico Madrid, is back in front of him. And to do his bit, Lunin kept the goal dry at Getafe and made some good saves."

The publication also listed the moments from Real Madrid's game against Getafe in which Lunin managed to prove himself, drawing attention to his calls to his teammates.

"Goingout one-on-one with Majoral, Greenwood's strong shot, which, despite the referee signalling for a goal kick, he saved to save the goal...

Lunin showed his personality by demanding intensity from his team at 2-0 down to keep things simple and keep the goal dry, something Real Madrid so desperately wanted, and which should earn him a place in the starting line-up for Sunday's derby," Mundo Deportivo said.
