Initially, the coach of Chornomorets Odesa, Roman Hryhorchuk, planned to train in Turkey for a month. However, these plans were interfered with by circumstances that forced the Sailors to return to Ukraine two days earlier. Instead of 5 February, the team returned to Odesa this morning.
It is likely that the reason was, to put it mildly, the unclear position of the Uzbek club Andijan, with whom Chornomorets were to play their final sparring match in the Turkish Mediterranean on 4 February. Three days before the scheduled meeting with the Sailors, the Uzbeks played a representative of the aggressor country, CSKA Moscow, which is not only contrary to the position of the Ukrainian club, but also to the position of the entire civilised world.
The Chornomorets management immediately put an end to the control match with Andijan, and given that it was difficult to find another sparring partner in a firefight, it was decided to go home early.
Yesterday, after the evening training session, the Sailors' team travelled to Antalya Airport, from where they took a flight to Chisinau. From the Moldovan capital, Chornomorets travelled by bus to Odesa in the morning.
The Seafarers will have a few days off, and then they will continue preparations for the spring part of the season. It will take place in Odesa.
