Lorient responded with their first substitution in the 70th minute, bringing on A. Kari instead of T. Bakayoko. However, the substitutions did little to change the course of the match.
Metz tried to turn the tide of the match in their favour by making two more substitutions in the 75th minute when F. Cande came on in place of A. Atta and in the 84th minute when M. Colin was replaced by S. Sane. Sane. Metz made two more substitutions in the final minutes: K. Van Den Kerckhof replaced J. Asoro in the 85th minute and G. Mikautadze came on in place of B. Tetteh. "Lorient" also made the last substitutions in the final stage of the game. M. Bamba gave way to B. Dieng in the 79th minute, and then I. Louza replaced B. Bouanani in the 79th minute. Finally, P. Caceris of Lorient was replaced by F. Mendy in the 88th minute. Minor fouls and yellow cards were scattered throughout the match, reflecting the high intensity and competitive nature of the encounter. Metz received two yellow cards: K. N'Doram was cautioned in the 19th minute and K. Sabaly in the 77th minute. Metz players D. Jean Jacques and M. Colin also received yellow cards in the 81st and 83rd minutes respectively. Lorient's F. Mendy was the only player from his team to receive a yellow card in the 90th minute. Nevertheless, these disciplinary offences did not dampen the overall excitement and skill of both sides. In conclusion, the football match between Metz and Lorient turned out to be exciting and left the fans in suspense. Lorient managed to win a difficult 2-1 victory thanks to goals from M. Bamba and P. Katseris. Despite all the efforts, Metz suffered a defeat and must regroup and work out a strategy for future matches.
