The High Anti-Corruption Court has upheld the claim of the Ministry of Justice to recover the assets of Russian-Greek oligarch Ivan Savvidi, who owns PAOK, and his wife Kiriaki. This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Action Centre on its telegram channel.
Confiscated assets:
- 100% of corporate shares in PJSC Pentopak, which is one of the leaders in the production of packaging for meat and sausage products.
- 100% of the corporate rights of the subsidiary Atlantis-Pack Ukraine.
Savvidi's wife is the nominal owner of a number of companies in Ukraine, although her husband actually owns the business. If the decision stands up on appeal, the ball will be in the court of the State Property Fund, as the confiscated company is operating, paying taxes and has a staff of 200 people.
In 2015, Savvidi publicly welcomed the temporary occupation of Crimea and its so-called "accession" to the Russian Federation.
