Injured Neymar attended the Liga Paulista match between Santos and Corinthians, wearing the playing jersey of his hometown club and fuelling rumours of his imminent return to his homeland.
That said, Santos president Marcelo Teixeira has confirmed that he had a brief but important meeting with the star forward over a potential return to the club.
"The conversation was very brief, but quick conversations are often the most effective. But in this case, the most important thing is for Neymar to recover well from his injury - after that he will continue to play in Saudi Arabia and then come to us," the functionary told ESPN Brazil.
It should be noted that Neymar's contract with Al-Hilal runs until 2025, and Santos intends to sign the star on a free agent basis.
