Dynamo Kyiv has announced the loan of Reshat Ramadani to Skendija. The Macedonian defender returns to his home team after one year in the Ukrainian capital.

This was the last transfer of the former Dynamo coach Mircea Lucescu. In the summer of 2023, Kyiv did not buy any new players (they paid 250 thousand euros for the Macedonian). Andriy Yarmolenko returned as a free agent.

In almost three years of work in the Ukrainian capital, not a single transfer by Lucescu has paid off. Tudor Belutse, Denys Antiukh, Eric Ramirez, Kahim Perris, Justin Lonwijk have left no trace. I had high hopes for Vitinho, but the war changed everything.

To be honest, I still don't understand the Macedonian's move in the winter of 2023. Lucescu took a far from mainstream player from Shendia and the youth national team of Northern Macedonia. At the same time, the Dynamo system had two of its own young players in this position - Volodymyr Brazhko and Oleksandr Yatsyk. The former had already been quite successful at the level of Zorya and it was clear that he could claim a place in Dynamo's starting line-up. For Yatsyk, Ramadani's transfer was a great personal demotivation. He suffered various injuries and lost faith in himself.

There was hope that Lucescu saw something special in Ramadan, but in the second half of last season, the Macedonian came on as a substitute only once for a very short time. In the summer, he was left in the team. This season - three games. He played 27 minutes in the Ukrainian Cup and 12 minutes in two UPL matches.

During the winter training camp, Oleksandr Shovkovskyi tried him as a competitor for Brazko, or even a central defender, but Ramadani still looked very weak. It became obvious that we had to say goodbye. If we had any hopes for the player in the future, we would have looked for a loan to the UPL to keep him close to us and see his progress.

It is very important that such Ramadans do not join the team in the future. On the football field, the Macedonian showed nothing, plus he took away the prospects of young Ukrainian players. Yatsyk is no worse. There was even information that Ramadani was offered to Kryvbas, but Yurii Vernydub did not see any prospects in this. After that, there was a move to Dynamo.

It's no big secret that Goran Popov, a former Kyiv player who now works in the agency business, lobbied for his countryman's transfer to Dynamo. The status of a Dynamo player is much better than the status of a player of Shkendija and the youth national team of North Macedonia and opens up new opportunities for the player. As life has shown, nothing came of this idea.

"Dynamo began to say goodbye to players on whom the head coach did not count. Ramadani's departure is clearly not the last for Kyiv this winter. An injury saved Naveen Malysh. Samba Diallo is likely to be the next to go. The Senegalese looks completely disconnected from the team's play. Nothing has changed for the better for him since Shovkovskyi came to the coaching bench. It makes no sense to sit on the bench for the sake of some possible minutes during the season. You need to have a stable game practice.
