A well-known Ukrainian football TV commentator and ex-host of the Inter TV channel, Roman Kademin, has published a video message on his social networks in which he explained why he went abroad, why he is not going to return to Ukraine, as well as voiced his attitude towards mobilisation.

Роман Кадемин

"Probably fortunately, but I don't owe anyone anything in my life. And, as it turns out, I am not the only one (at this point, Kademin in his video showed a fragment of communication of the current President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky with journalists during the election campaign, where he says: "Look, I don't owe you anything. I owe only to my parents," - ed. note).

And then overnight we all became presidents (again a reference to Zelensky, this time to a fragment of his speech during the inauguration, when he said: "Each of us is a president" - ed.). What Ukraine is offering its presidents, its residents, its citizens who find themselves abroad: to return to the country, to go to the front and, most likely, to die.

Fight for what? Knowing how much Ukraine is mired in corruption. Knowing that children, wives, families of state leaders, middle-level officials have long been abroad. Children of conscription age are abroad. To fight for the fact that someone can leave quietly, and someone does not have such an opportunity at all?

Take, for example, some famous Ukrainian football player, who, being a man of draft age, went abroad for a big contract. Here it is possible. And a simple labourer, who is more modest in terms of all opportunities, has only one road: to go to the front, to fight and, perhaps, to give his life.

Let us now talk about us - about those Ukrainians who have gone abroad. You accuse us of betrayal, cowardice and so on. But there is absolutely nothing to envy us. The only thing is that we really fall asleep and wake up under a peaceful sky. Yes, that's true. You are in a completely different situation. But to say that it is easy for us here is a big mistake. Try to come here with one bag, in a foreign country where no one is waiting for you, where you have nothing and where you have to start not even from scratch, but from an even lower level. Not everyone is able to make such a step in their life. But it is a certain choice. And there is always a choice. The main thing is to make the right choice. And if you have something to think about on both scales, always choose yourself - you will not lose. Good luck!", - said Kademin.
