Jürgen Klinsmann sacked as head coach of South Korea national team

The Korean Football Association has officially dismissed the head coach of the national team, Jürgen Klinsmann.

The German coach's departure comes amid a conflict between teammates Son Heung-min and Lee Kang-in during the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. South Korea reached the semi-finals of the tournament, where they unexpectedly lost to Jordan with a score of 0:2. South Korea has not won the Asian Cup since 1960.

It will be recalled that Klinsmann took over the South Korean national team in February 2023. Under his leadership, the team played 17 matches, winning 9 and losing 5.
