Former Brazilian national team and Barcelona footballer Daniel Alves is currently in prison awaiting the court's verdict on the high-profile case of rape of a girl in the nightclub Sutton in Barcelona in December 2022.
The trial took place from 5 to 7 February, following which the prosecutor's office requested 9 years in prison for the former footballer.
According to Marca, referring to the issue of the TV programme "Fiesta", Alves was planning to escape from prison to Brazil. He was going to do so after a temporary release, which he was denied three times. This was reported on the programme by journalist Silvia Salamo, who interviewed Alves' cellmate.
It is noteworthy that there is no extradition agreement between Spain and Brazil, so Alves would not have been wanted in Brazil.
