Benitez is one step away from leaving Celta

Celta's disappointing results may prompt the management to dismiss head coach Rafael Benitez.

According to Marca, the Vigo-based club may dismiss the 63-year-old if he fails to win the 27th round of the Spanish league against Almeria, which is last in the table, next Friday.

Benitez himself is in no hurry to leave the club, having a solid financial contract until 2026. In addition to money, the coach does not want his return to La Liga to be a failure.

After 26 rounds, Celta ranks 17th in the Spanish league standings, three points clear of the relegation zone.
