This weekend are the matches of the 19th round of the Ukrainian championship of the season-2023/24. On Saturday, 2 March, Dynamo Kyiv and Chornomorets Odessa met in one of them. The match was held in Kyiv at the Dynamo stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskiy.

"Dynamo started this match very actively, and already on the first minute of the match almost opened the score - it was Vivcharenko who shot from the right into the penalty area of the guests, Vanatu failed to make a shot, but it rebounded to Shaparenko, who made a powerful shot from 12 metres, and the ball almost hit the post of the Chernomorets' goal. Moreover, just four minutes later, Shepelev struck from 25 metres, Varakuta reacted, but kicked the ball straight to Vanata, who played a shot from the corner of the goalkeeper's box, but even in this situation the Sailors' goalkeeper managed to save his team.
However, on these two moments Dynamo's starting onslaught was almost exhausted. And on the 15th minute of the match Chornomorets had a scoring opportunity: Ihede broke into the penalty area of Kyivians from the right, shot powerfully into the near corner, and Buschan with great difficulty converted the game to a corner. And from about this time the game began to be played in an absolutely equal struggle, and the next sharp episode had to wait for quite a long time - it occurred only in the 31st minute of the match, when after Shaparenko's corner kick Vanat made a header and the ball touched the crossbar of "Chernomorets" goal.
Six minutes later the score was opened. Voloshin made a diagonal pass to the goal of "Chernomorets" from the right flank, and it forced Varakuta to make a mistake - he came out to intercept, but from his hands the ball hit the far post, bounced into the goalkeeper's area, where Shepelev was the most agile - 1:0. And it was with this score on the scoreboard teams went to the break.
The second half passed in a more turbulent manner. Both teams tried to attack, both teams recorded good combinations and shots, the goalkeepers of both teams repeatedly entered the game, but there were no really dangerous moments for a long time. Only in the middle of the half both Dynamo and Chornomorets were close to the goal for the first time after the break. First Vanat shot from the penalty line - Varakuta caught the ball, though with a risk. And a few minutes later Ihede finished the counterattack of his team with a shot from 14 metres, and this time Buschan showed his skill. And in the 70th minute Brazhko made a powerful shot from 20 metres, and the ball hit the post of the "Chernomorets" goal.
In the final part of the match Dynamo tried to act without risks, concentrating first of all on the ball control, and that is why they had no special opportunities to increase the score, but it is impossible not to mention Supryaga's shot from outside the penalty area, which Varakuta coped with in a throw with great difficulty. And Chornomorets, despite all their desire to avoid defeat, did not succeed in attack. As a result, the match ended with a minimal advantage in favour of Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team - 1:0.
After this victory Dynamo moved to the third place in the championship standings and are 3 points behind the leading Kryvbas, but they have played two matches less.
In the next round Dynamo will have a guest match with Veres from Rovno. This meeting will take place next Thursday, 7 March, in Rivne at the stadium "Avangard" (kick-off - at 18:00).
