Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola commented on the 3-1 victory over Manchester United in the English Premier League match on Matchday 27.
"It would have been bad if we hadn't won, but the result was in line with our performance, which is great. We started very well, but after seven minutes and the first long throw-in, we didn't hold the line. In the first half, we were too nervous when we got to the final third of the field, but overall, the match was very good.
In the championship, everything depends on us. We can't control what Liverpool and Arsenal, Aston Villa and other contenders do, we have to look after ourselves. We have to do everything necessary to win today, on Wednesday, on Sunday.
Will we be able to do it? I don't know. We have more points than a year ago at this stage. The difference is that Liverpool have scored a lot more points than a year ago. When an opponent performs like that, you can only congratulate them," Guardiola was quoted as saying by the BBC.
