There are exactly 100 days left until the start of Euro 2024. Here are some interesting statistics on the future tournament.

  • Germany are the sole host strata of Euro 2024.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo is preparing to play in the final stage of the Euros for the sixth time. For his Portugal team-mate Pepe and Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, the tournament will be their fifth.
  • Six potential Euro debutants - Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan and Luxembourg - are among the participants in the knockout matches.
  • Nine former tournament winners will play in the final stage of Euro 2024: Czech Republic*, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia* and Spain.
  • The matches will be played in 10 cities - Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
  • Albert will become the 12th Euro mascot since Pinocchio first fulfilled the role in 1980. Albert got his name through a vote among UEFA.com users and schoolchildren across Europe.
  • The German national team holds the record for the most appearances in Euro finals (14 times including this one). Germany and Spain have each won the European Championship three times - more than any other national team.
  • This will be the 17th European Championship.
  • Each team must submit a 23-player entry no later than seven days before the opening match.
  • The final tournament will feature 24 teams, with Germany as host, the 20 winners of the group stage of qualification and the three winners of the knockout matches to be played in March.
  • The tournament will last 31 days, with the opening match taking place in Munich on 14 June and the final in Berlin on 14 July.
  • UEFA has signed an agreement with the association of German transport companies VDV (Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmen) on a 36-hour pass (36-Stunden-Fahrkarte) for fans with tickets for Euro 2024 matches.
  • 40 gold medals will be awarded to the European champion and the same number of silver medals to the finalist.
  • 51 matches of the tournament will be played over 22 game days.
  • 16,000 volunteers will help organise the tournament in Germany.
  • 71,000 fans will attend the EURO 2024 final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
  • More than 80% of the 2.7 million tickets will be sold to fans of the participating teams and the general public.
  • The Euro 2024 strategy for the environment, social responsibility and governance will attract an investment of €32 million. The tournament promises to be the most sustainable European Championship ever.
  • The total prize money for EURO 2024 will be €331 million, the same as the last European Championship.
