Betis vs Villarreal match review:

In a thrilling La Liga match between Real Betis and Villarreal at Estadio Benito Villamarín, the visitors managed a 3-2 victory over the home side. The first half of the game started with both teams looking to take control of the game. On 29 minutes, Villarreal's B. Traore received a yellow card and this set the tone for a physical battle. However, it was Real Betis who struck the first shot on goal by G. Rodriguez in the 30th minute.

Villarreal quickly responded with a goal by A. Baena in the 40th minute, but just before the break Real Betis took the lead again thanks to a goal by Willian Jose in the 45th minute. More drama unfolded in the second half. Villarreal equalised thanks to a goal by S. Papastathopoulos in the 48th minute. Then the visitors took the lead for the first time in the match thanks to A. Sorlota's goal in the 67th minute. Real Betis' hopes of returning to winning ways were dashed when C. Avila received a red card in the 70th minute, leaving his 10-man squad on the pitch. Villarreal's A. Moreno also received a red card in the same minute and the match descended into chaos. In the final stage of the game both teams made a lot of substitutions, trying to change the outcome of the game. Villarreal managed to hold on to their lead, despite late attempts from Real Betis, and picked up an important away win. The match was a prime example of the unpredictable nature of football, with moments changing each other. Villarreal showed resilience and character, coming back from an early deficit to emerge as the eventual winner.

The following matches await the rivals in the next round: Rayo Vallecano - Betis, Villarreal - Valencia.
