On Wednesday, 13 March, the Ukraine national team left for Spain, where it will begin preparations for the semi-final play-off match of the Euro 2024 qualifying cycle against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The journey to the training camp for the "blue-and-yellow" squad started from the Central Railway Station in Kyiv, where the team travelled by train to Polish Peremyshl on the first stage of their journey.
And before boarding in one of the premises of the railway station there was a press conference, which was attended by the UAF president Andriy Shevchenko, head coach of the Ukraine national team Serhiy Rebrov, as well as players of the national team - Georgiy Buschan and Volodymyr Brazhko.
Andriy Shevchenko: - First of all, I want to welcome our national team and wish them to prepare very well for two very important matches. We have an important task - to reach the European Championship. I believe that our team will solve this task.
I would also like to congratulate our youth national team (U-17), which won its group in the elite round of the European Championships.
In addition, I would like to announce the "Superhumans" fundraiser, the goal of which is to raise money for sports prosthetics for our veterans. Please everyone to join this fundraiser. Thank you! Glory to Ukraine!
Serhiy Rebrov: - I am grateful to Andriy Mykolaevych for coming to this event, welcomed the guys. Very important matches are waiting for us. We will be grateful to all the fans who will support us. I am confident in the guys, we will do everything possible to solve the task.
Georgiy Buschan: - Every time I come to the Ukraine national team, I feel excitement. I am very happy to see the guys, including those from different teams, with whom we play against each other. We want to prepare well for the upcoming matches and realise our dream - to qualify for the Euro.
I would like to ask the fans to join the training camp, which was announced by Andriy Nikolaevich.
Vladimir Brazhko: - I am very grateful to the coaches for this call up to the national team, it is a great experience, I will work 100% and strive to be worthy to be part of the team. I want to prove myself.
I hope that the fans will support us in these important matches and I believe that in the end we will all be happy with our appearance at the Euro.
- Question to Sergei Rebrov. How not to burn out before the match with Bosnia and Herzegovina, how to do not to worry unnecessarily?
- I am confident in the guys, I am sure that they will be prepared for this match. As I have already said, it is important to look at ourselves. Of course, we will give the guys all the information about the opponent, but first of all it is important to seriously prepare ourselves. I believe that the team can win. And I don`t know what you should do not to worry. (Smiling).
- Question for Georgi Buschan. How will you respond to the Bosnians' over-the-top motivation?
GeorgiBuschan: - We have a chance to qualify for the Euros - that's our motivation. That's all. That is the motivation. The motivation is to go to the Euro and remind the whole world that Ukraine is and wants to win
- Question to Serhiy Rebrov. What are the chances for Tsygankov to help the team?
Serhiy Rebrov: - As very high. I communicate with him every day and monitor the dynamics of his recovery. We'll see. Everything, of course, depends, first of all, on him, on how he will recover. But we have a lot of players in the clip, we do not depend on Tsygankov. He is a very important player for us, but there are 28 players in our camp, so in any case we will seriously prepare. But, of course, we will be very happy if Viktor helps us.
- What are the plans for the upcoming training camp?
- We haven`t seen the guys for almost 4 months. So it is very important that the team will be together. All the guys are looking forward to the match, but the training camp is organised to look at everyone, not at anyone separately. Again, it is important that all our players have practice in their clubs. We start this training camp a little earlier than usual to have time to look at the players and prepare for the upcoming matches as best as possible.
