Odesa-based Chornomorets has issued an official statement regarding its coach Igor Kasyanenko, who fled to the United States.
"Football club Chornomorets informs the sports community and fans about the incident that took place when the team returned home from Turkey. One of the club's representatives, who spent all the time with the FC at the training camp, took full part in the preparatory process, did not appear at Antalya airport when the team flew to Chisinau airport.
We are talking about the physical training coach Ihor Kasyanenko. The ticket was purchased for him, but he was not on the plane at the time of departure. The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine was informed about this incident. All the details have been brought to the attention of the responsible authority. The management of FC Chornomorets condemns this act of its former representative. But there is no way to influence this decision, although there was an attempt at an adequate dialogue on the part of the club - in response, we faced the dishonesty of the person.
However, the club can influence the fugitive's future career. The management of FC Chornomorets initiated the process of revoking Kasyanenko's coaching licence. Anyone who deceived the club, his immediate supervisor, and the team's head coach (Kasyanenko joined Chornomorets in early 2022) has no right to remain in football. Those who hired Kasyanenko should be aware of his penchant for betrayal," reads a statement on Chornomorets' official telegram channel.
