Atletico Madrid won a ticket to the 1/4 finals of the Champions League in a penalty shootout against Inter Milan
In the return leg at the Metropolitano Stadium, Madrid won 2-1 in normal time and were able to take the match to extra time. The two fifteen-minute periods ended goalless and the teams moved on to a penalty shootout.
