Atletico Madrid won a ticket to the 1/4 finals of the Champions League in a penalty shootout against Inter Milan

"Atletico became the first team in the history of the Champions League to win three post-match 11-metre penalty shootouts. Matras goalkeeper Jan Oblak defended the goal in all three penalty shootouts.
"Atletico beat Bayer Leverkusen on penalties in the 2014/2015 season and PSV in the 2015/2016 season. In the same year, 2016, the Matras lost to Real Madrid in the final of the tournament in a series of 11-metre penalties.
