Former Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Carlos De Pena, now playing for Brazilian side Internacional, has been suspended from training with his current team.
"Due to the development of planning for the remainder of the 2024 season, our club announces that players Carlos De Peña and Gabriel Girotto will individually continue training activities to fully maintain their technical and sporting form, but will not participate in team training sessions in preparation for the next matches of the season," Internacional said in a statement.
According to Globo Esporte, this decision of Internacional is due to the fact that de Pena is no longer in the plans of the head coach of this team Eduardo Cude - the 31-year-old Uruguayan is simply no longer counted on.
Since last Monday, Internacional have been training without de Pena. His fate will be decided after the end of the current Liga Gaushu (championship of the state of Rio Grande do Sul), the final of which will be held on 7 April.
Recall, for "Internacional" de Pena performs since April 2022. Since then, the midfielder has played 102 matches for this team in all tournaments, scoring 11 goals and giving 9 assists, but this year, the ex-Dinamo player has been on the field only five times.
