The Ukrainian national team started the first full day of the Spanish training camp with a morning training session at the Banus Football Centre.
This training complex is very popular with well-known European teams, which often hold their training camps in Marbella. Its main value is, of course, the excellent quality of the pitch, which is enhanced by the ideal climatic conditions for football in the south of Spain. At 11am, the temperature is already +17, and in two hours the air warms up to 20-21 degrees - and this is in March. The contrast with our latitudes is palpable.
The blue and yellows started the morning session with a run and passing and ball control exercises. After that, the coaching staff focused on combinations with the completion of attacks and work under pressure.
Immediately after lunch, two of our English players joined the national team. Vitalii Mykolenko arrived from Faro, Portugal, where his Everton team had a training camp during their break in the English Premier League, and Ilya Zabarnyi flew in from London: his Bournemouth's match against Wolverhampton was postponed due to the latter's participation in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Both boys were very happy to see their national teammates - in fact, this joy was mutual.
Given the long journey and participation in their clubs' training sessions, the two defenders jogged around the pitch in the evening, followed by a myofascial release (muscle and fascia relaxation) with the help of rolls.
Meanwhile, the whole team carried out the tasks of the coaching staff during the evening training session. The main part of the work was devoted to tactics and playing the game structure.
Tomorrow the Ukrainian national team will continue its work at the training camp in Marbella.
