Renowned manager and expert Viacheslav Zakhovailo has made a forecast for the Euro 2024 play-off match between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ukraine.
"In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the backbone of the national team is made up of veterans Pjanic and Djeko - we all understand that their 'golden days' are far behind them. Edin is already 38 years old and is nearing the end of his career. Of course, the team is counting on his experience and ability to be in the right place at the right time.
Our team is looking much more convincing now. Ukraine suffered only two defeats during the group stage of qualification in a group with the finalists of the last Euro, Italy and England. Many young players are progressing in their clubs, they are already the core players, sometimes even leaders in the team.
Bosnia did not particularly impress in the qualifying round, they did not grab stars from the sky. Still, at home they will try to create considerable difficulties for Ukraine.
I don't think Ukraine will be able to play open football. Serhii Rebrov is not changing his tactics, he will play combination football with quick transitions to attack. Are the Bosnians ready for this? I think so, why not. They will try to counter with similar football, they will want to slow down the attack on their own goal.
I do not expect many goals in such circumstances. Nevertheless, I will hazard a guess that the match will end in a draw with the exact score of 1-1 in normal time," Zakhovailo said.
