The Ukrainian national team in Poland yesterday began preparations for the final match of the 2024 European Championship play-offs against Iceland. Ukraine's goalkeeper Andriy Lunin commented on the 2-1 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the semi-finals.
"It was definitely a difficult match with a difficult, unpleasant opponent who tried to impose their game on us through long passes. There was a lot of fighting, rebounds, and standards. It's good that we didn't lose. We tried to show our game, keep the ball down. The main thing is that we did not give up, played to the end, showed character. Such matches are a good experience. I want to thank the whole team, all the guys. And to those who came on as substitutes and helped, giving the game a new impetus," said Andriy Lunin.
It will be recalled that the final play-off match of the Euro 2024 qualifiers between Ukraine and Iceland will take place on 26 March at the Tarczynski Arena Wrocław stadium in Wrocław, Poland, and will start at 20:45 local time (21:45 in Kyiv).
