The German national team will end its cooperation with Adidas, which has lasted since 1954. Nike will become the new technical sponsor from the beginning of 2027. This is stated in a statement by the German Football Association (DFB).

The American brand will equip all DFB national teams and contribute to the development of German football in general. The financial terms were not disclosed.
"We are looking forward to working with Nike. The future partnership will allow the DFB to continue to fulfil its key tasks in the next decade with a view to the comprehensive development of football in Germany.
But one thing is also clear: until December 2026, we will be fully committed to the joint success of our long-standing partner Adidas, to whom German football has owed much for more than seven decades," said DFB President Bernd Neuendorf.
"Nike submitted the best bid and also impressed with its vision, which includes a clear commitment to the promotion of amateur and grassroots sports as well as the sustainable development of women's football in Germany. The terms of the tender were agreed in advance with all relevant market players," the DFB added.
The DFB's cooperation with Adidas began in 1954, when the founder of the German sportswear brand Adolf (Adi) Dassler equipped the German national team at the FIFA World Cup in Switzerland with special boots that could change the length of the spikes.
German teams have worn Adidas equipment at all four World Cups, three European Championships, two Women's World Cups and eight European titles.
Euro 2024 will be held from 14 to 14 July 2024 in 10 cities in Germany. The German national team will be based at the Adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach during the competition.
