Renowned Ukrainian journalist and commentator Ihor Tsyganik has made a prediction for the final Euro 2024 play-off match between Ukraine and Iceland.
"We are all looking forward to the next 'match of life' for the Ukrainian national team. The match against Iceland, which will take place on 26 March, is crucial as it will determine the team that will go to Euro 2024.
"It's great that we are playing at home - at home is conditional, but the support of Ukrainian fans in Wroclaw, Poland, should be significant. It is also very good for the Ukrainian team that Wroclaw will have a good pitch, unlike the one in the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. We need such a high-quality pitch to put the ball on the ground and control the game in the match against Iceland.
In general, I consider the Ukrainians to be absolute favourites to face the Icelanders. If there were difficulties in the match against Bosnia away from home, because away matches are always more difficult for us, then in Wroclaw everything should be fine, in my opinion.
I am pleased to see Viktor Tsygankov back in the line-up - he is a serious reinforcement, I am sure he will start from the first minutes of the match. In general, I believe that the Ukrainians will work on their mistakes, draw the right conclusions from the match against the Bosnians, and this time they will not bring it to such a heartbreaking ending.
As for the Icelanders, they have a solid team, a vertical team, a very aggressive team, a young team that will fight for their chance. But I am convinced that the human resources of our players and the team quality are much higher.
I'm betting on the victory of the Ukrainian national team, I'm betting on Ukrainian goals in both halves, and I'm expecting another goal from Artem Dovbyk," Tsyganik said.
