In the summer of 2022, then Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Holland could end up at Barcelona, Mundo Deporivo reports.
The Catalans' contacts with the Norwegian forward's representatives began in April 2021. They flew to Barcelona to get acquainted with the club's sports project, then went to Madrid and then to England. In March 2022, Xavi flew to Munich to meet Holland in person. Erling agreed to the transfer, but the deal fell through due to the Blaugrana's financial situation. As a result, Barcelona signed Robert Lewandowski for €45 million.
Now Barcelona will try to get Holland again in 2025. In February, the club got in touch with the player's agent Rafaela Pimenta. She met with the Blue and Gold's sporting director Deco.
