Viktor Tsygankov- We do not see any special emotions in you. What happened in the locker room of the Ukrainian national team after the match?
- I did not go into the locker room after the game, because I had a doping test. But, of course, I heard that everyone was rejoicing. I'm happy for the whole country, for our people. First of all, I want to say: guys who are fighting for us - this victory is for you. If it were not for you, it would not have happened. This victory is for our people and for our fighters. I am very happy that it happened like this.
- How does it feel after the injury? There was a lot of doubt as to whether you could play today.
- I only had three full training sessions. But everyone knew what kind of game awaits us, and I knew. So first of all I wanted to help my country and the team. Especially because I was counted on, they believed in me. I hoped to do my best for us to qualify for the Euro.
- What can you say about the opponent?
- They know what their strong qualities are. This team is very organised at the back, and it was very hard to crack this defence. They also scored first, so the game went in a different direction. But, thank God, we scored the first goal, calmed down a bit, then we were able to score the second goal and win the match.
- Can we say that after your goal the team fell a stone from their shoulders?
- Again, the Icelanders defended very well and understood what they could win the match thanks to. Of course, it was very important for us to score the first goal as soon as possible.
- How do you like the atmosphere in the stands?
- Once again I say: this victory is for our country, our people and, above all, for you, our fighters who are fighting for us. We are not the heroes, you are the heroes! And if it weren't for you, we wouldn't even be able to play today. Guys, this is all for you. Glory to Ukraine!
