Former Romania striker Gheorghe Craioveanu (played in the 90s of the last century) said what he thinks about the rivalry between his country's national team and Ukraine at the group stage of Euro 2024.
"The current Ukraine national team is a very technical team with very, very good, fast players in the squad. And also with a very good forward Artem Dovbik, who as a striker I really like - he is like a beast on the football field.
Ukrainians are less good in defence, they have some problems there, but I think they will have everything balanced at the Euros.
I don't think that the Ukrainian team is superior to the Romanian team. In terms of individualities - maybe, yes. But as a team as a whole - I don't think so" - the Romanian media quotes Craioveanu's words.
We shall remind you that it is against the Romanian national team that Ukraine will play its opening match at Euro 2024. This meeting will take place on 17 June in Munich. The other two opponents of the Ukrainian national team in the European Championship group will be Belgium and Slovakia.
