Liverpool have decided on their main candidate for the head coaching position, according to football insider Fabrizio Romano.

According to the source, the Liverpool bosses have decided to invite Ruben Amorim, who is currently the head coach of Sporting Lisbon, to the post of head coach. Earlier, the Merseysiders actively followed Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, but the Spaniard decided to stay at the Leverkusen club.

As a reminder, the Reds' current head coach Jurgen Klopp will leave the team at the end of the season. The German has been leading the team since October 2015.
