Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih head coach Yuriy Vernydub commented on his team's 2-0 victory over Veres Rivne in yesterday's away match of the 22nd round of the Ukrainian Premier League.
"I wish Veres to stay in the UPL. I really wish them that. I understood that it would be a very difficult game. Moreover, before that they drew with Dynamo here - 1-1. That's why we were seriously preparing for Veres.
Overall, the game was good football. What I didn't like: the opponent's moment in the first minutes. Our guys were a bit confused. It's good that they didn't convert that chance.
After that, we kept the game under control, I think. We had more chances and played from a position of strength. It's very difficult to pass a strong defence. But after that episode when the Veres striker did everything himself: he turned around and hit Stetskov in the face - a clear red card, it helped somewhat. At the beginning of the second half, we scored the first goal.
Yes, it was difficult for the opponent in the minority. They had almost no chances. Then we scored another goal at the end," Vernydub's words were quoted by Kryvbas' official website.
