Acting head coach of Poltava "Vorskla" Sergiy Dolganskiy in the air of Youtube-channel "UPL TV" summarised the results of the match of his team with Kyiv "Dynamo" (1:5) in the 22nd round of the Ukrainian championship, which took place last Sunday in Poltava.
Sergey Dolgansky- Do you think that your team faced Dynamo Kyiv today with dignity?
- Decent or not, but we easily concede goals. It is worrying. But the attitude of the players to the match, the quality of their play - it will be a plus for us in the future.
At the beginning of the match the players of our team were unsure of themselves. I told them today that the most important thing in the match with Dynamo would be their courage - courage to play football. At the beginning it was lacking.
The game was given to us, Dynamo had almost no chances, right? But when we had chances, we did not have the courage to escalate the game, to take responsibility.
In the second half I saw that my team had already caught the spirit, they started to sharpen up, there were very good attacks. But there was no balance between defence and attack. And the teams of Dynamo level take advantage of it.
We have never played two matches in a row with the same lineup. We can`t find a balance in defence. Our edge defender plays centre-back. On the other hand, there is a lot of information for reflection and a lot of positives, which was not there before.
- Did the fact that Sklyar, Perduta, Myakushko did not play today for various reasons affect the game of "Vorskla"?
- These are the leaders of our team, who can take the game on themselves, are not afraid of responsibility. But we play with those who we have. We can`t complain that someone was absent today. We have enough players who should take their chances and play at the same level too.
- A lot of time was spent on air alerts today. During these pauses you probably talked to your charges about the fact that they lacked courage?
- Yeah, yeah. We talked about it. They can play football, but they lack some confidence. We will work on it.
- Today the positive for "Vorskla" is the goal against "Dynamo"?
- Yes. We had enough beautiful combinations and opportunities to score a goal. But we used only one such opportunity. The positive is that there are chances, the negative is that we do not use them.
- How was it for you to play with spectators in the stands?
