The listed coaches and their assistants have contributed to the success of Dynamo players from the capital of Ukraine. But, undoubtedly, the biggest contribution to the bright victories of the Bilo-Syni was made by a native of Kyiv, a great player in the past (won the first Dynamo "gold" in 1961), and later its long-time coach, who headed the team at the age of 34, Valeriy Lobanovsky.
13 May 2002 in Zaporizhzhya ended the earthly way of this wonderful man and legendary specialist, football genius. He was 63 years old. And we will measure football by Lobanovsky for a long time.
Here are the main achievements of the teams of the Maestro, who successfully moved the most popular game in the world forward with creative inspiration. "Dynamo" under his leadership won 8 times the "gold" of the USSR championships, the Cup of the country (6), the Cup of the season (3). Twice Kyiv Dynamo led by Lobanovsky won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (1975 and 1986) and once the UEFA Super Cup (1975).
Three of his pupils - Oleg Blokhin, Igor Belanov and Andriy Shevchenko - won the France Football Golden Ball.
Lobanovsky and his charges continued their winning march during the times of Independent Ukraine. His team won five league titles and celebrated three cup triumphs.
Valeriy Vasilyevich demonstrated his talent working with the national teams. The Soviet team became the bronze medallist of the 1976 Olympics in Montreal (Canada) and vice-champion of Europe in 1988 in Germany. The Kuwait national team is the bronze medallist of the Asian Games (1994), the winner of the Persian Gulf Cup (1996).
The Kiev football conductor was named the second world coach (1986) by the popular publication World Soccer. In his collection of titles of Coach of the Year in Europe (1986, 1988, 1999).
Hero of Ukraine Valeriy Lobanovsky was awarded with many orders and medals. He is honoured with the UEFA Rubinov Order and the FIFA Order of Merit for his contribution to the development of world football.

These are the words from the song "Red Sunflower" (music by Igor Poklad, lyrics by Yuriy Rybchinsky), dedicated to Valeriy Lobanovsky, which was first performed in the crowded Palace of Sports in the capital during the awarding of Dynamo with the next champion's "gold" by the Kyiv goalkeeper Mikhail Mikhailov.

"Coach's Bridge", Lobanovsky's sculptural composition is installed in front of the entrance to the Dynamo stadium, which bears his name. Kyiv annually hosts the Valeriy Lobanovsky Memorial Tournament.
The Dynamo football school and the secondary school, where he graduated with a silver medal, are named after Lobanovsky.
