On Monday, 8 April, in the match of the 23rd round of the Ukrainian championship Dynamo Kyiv drew with Cherkasy LNZ with the score 1:1. The meeting was held in Kyiv at the Dynamo stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskiy. Here is the post-match press conference of the teams' coaches.
Oleksandr SHOVKOVSKY, Dynamo head coach:
- First of all, I would like to thank our fans for their support in today's match, as well as our defenders and defencewomen for the fact that we have an opportunity to play football.
Unfortunately, today we did not manage to please our fans.
In the first half the game was given to us. We scored a goal, we could score more, but, unfortunately, we conceded. After the break, we tried to change the score, but we failed, although we had chances to score.
A disappointing draw. But we move on.
- Does the team still face the task of fighting for the championship?
- Such a task is always before our team. And in every match we fight exclusively for victory.
- What was not enough to win today?
- Realisation. Both in defence and in attack. We didn`t score in attack, in defence we made mistakes. On the other hand, we can say that we also made mistakes in attack - in situations when we should have managed the ball more coolly and brought the score to a more comfortable level.
- Why did Nesheret play today, and not Buschan?
- We have rotation. Nescheret deserved to be in the starting lineup.
Oleg Dulub, head coach of LNZ:
- A very tough game for both teams. In my opinion, after two defeats today's draw is a positive result for us.
- There are a lot of rumours in the press about Shakhtar's financial incentives for Dynamo rivals. Have you heard anything about it?
- I have not heard.
- What are the tournament objectives for LNZ this season?
- We have a large group of new players, and we need to adapt to the UPL. Many of them say that we have a very, very difficult championship in terms of its intensity. So now our main task is to adapt the players to the Ukrainian championship. And scoring points.
