A number of Belgian media outlets have drawn attention to the stalemate in which Brugge's Ukrainian striker Roman Yaremchuk, currently playing on loan for Spanish side Valencia, will find himself after the end of the current season.

Roman Yaremchuk

In particular, one of the authoritative publications in Belgium, Voetbalnieuws, called Yaremchuk a "huge problem" for Brugge. It is noted that the club on the one hand does not count on the Ukrainian, and on the other hand, wants to return the investment of 17 million euros, which were paid to Yaremchuk's previous club, Portuguese Benfica.

"In the summer, Brugge will have to find a new striker to replace Igor Thiago, who will move to Brentford. The club are targeting Adam Bareiro from Argentine side San Lorenzo and are already in talks over such a transfer.

Meanwhile, Roman Yaremchuk is still on Brugge's payroll. The striker has scored 4 goals in 25 matches for Valencia. Therefore, Fichajes believes that the Spanish club will not be interested in extending their co-operation with Yaremchuk in the summer. This means that he will return to Brugge in the summer, but there is simply no place for him there", - writes the publication.

It is reported that in this situation, Brugge is betting on Yaremchuk's performance in the Ukrainian national team at Euro 2024. If he manages to prove himself at this tournament, it will ensure interest in him from clubs and then, perhaps, Brugge will be able to formalise the transfer of the Ukrainian on acceptable terms.

Recall, at the moment Yaremchuk is out of training - in the last days of March, he injured the muscle of the back of the thigh. It is expected that the player will need about a month to recover.
