Dynamo defender Oleksandr Karavayev told UPL TV how the draw in the 23rd round of the Ukrainian Championship against LNZ (1-1) affected the team.
- Tell us about your preparations after the unsuccessful match against LNZ.
- The preparation was as usual, as for every match. This is football, anything can happen. We didn't make the most of our chances, and then we got a funny goal from our mistake. But I think the whole team was to blame for not scoring their chances. There were very good chances before 1-1. Then it was very difficult, LNZ played very well in defence and sometimes ran out to attack.
- As for the curious goal. Today Neshcheret did not even arrive in Oleksandriya. Can you comment on this in any way?
- This is not related. He was a little sick, I understand he had a temperature, so he couldn't go. It was a coincidence that he was ill.
- Why do you think Shovkovskyi decided to leave Bushchan on the bench in that match?
- I can't answer that because it was the head coach's decision. But I see that he said in an interview then that Ruslan deserved this chance to start, so he made this choice and put him on.
- Do you realise that this draw could affect the fate of the championship?
- It can, but it's too early to say because there are still many matches to go. We need to tune in to each match, approach it as if it were the last, win all the matches, and then we'll see.
- Now not everything depends on Dynamo, now we have to wait for Shakhtar's mistakes. What do you think of that?
- Yes, that's right. We can no longer influence this, but we can influence our game. We need to win every match, and then we'll see. We will still have a confrontation with Shakhtar, and there will be many more matches. So we will see.
- Aren't you worried that there is less game practice now, given that you have to prepare for the Euros as well?
- Of course, I am worried. I always want to play. It's the coach's choice. If the coach doesn't set it, it means he thinks it's better. I'm always ready at any time, and it's the coach's choice.
