Bayer Leverkusen, having defeated Bremen "Werder" (5:0) in the 29th round of the German championship, ahead of schedule, five rounds before the end of the championship guaranteed themselves the championship title.
"Bayern" and "Stuttgart", which now share second and third place in the Bundesliga standings, are 16 points behind the "pharmacists" and thus have no theoretical chance to catch up with the leader.
Note that "Bayer" for the first time in history became the champion of Germany. Prior to that, the team became vice-champion of the country five times, and six times finished third.
After Bayer's decisive victory, the team's fans went into a frenzy at the Bay-Arena stadium and literally filled the football field.
