Former Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu has agreed to take charge of Turkish side Besiktas, iAM Sport reports, citing several sources close to the 78-year-old specialist.
Moreover, according to the publication, the Istanbul Grand managed to persuade the coach to start work now, without waiting for the end of the season (Lucescu, as you know, has repeatedly stated in categorical form that he does not want to take a new team in the middle of the season).
Recall, the day before "Besiktas" officially announced the dismissal of head coach Fernando Santosu. Accordingly, at the moment this position in the Turkish club is vacant. The team is now in fourth place in the Turkish league and is fighting for third place (the Black Eagles are separated from second place by as many as 36 points!). In the current season, Besiktas has eight matches left to play: six in the championship and two in the Turkish Cup.
