UEFA has named three contenders for the player of the week award following the results of the Champions League quarter-finals. Paradoxically, the main hero of the Manchester City-Real Madrid match, Ukrainian Andriy Lunin, is not among them.
Andrei Lunin. Photo: Getty ImagesThe UEFA press service announced the following nominees: Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt, PSG midfielder Ousmane Dembele and Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde.
It was Valverde, who was unforgettable in the return leg against Manchester City, who was named UEFA's player of the match, rather than Lunin, who made several stunning saves during the match and parried two penalties in the penalty shoot-out.
